LABOR DOULA - What can I expect:

As a labor and birth doula, I will accompany you through labor (either hospital or home birth/birthing center) and help ensure a safe and satisfying birth experience. I will draw upon my professional training, knowledge and experience to provide you with emotional support, physical comfort and, as needed, communication with professional staff to make sure you have the information you need to make informed decisions as they arise in labor. I can provide you and your husband (labor companion) with reassurance and perspective, make suggestions for labor progress, and help with relaxation, massage, positioning, and other techniques for comfort...

A birth doula will meet with you before labor at least once to become acquainted, explore and discuss your priorities/fears/concerns, and assist you with your birth plan if needed. While in labor, I will not leave you. After birth, I will stay with you for at least two hours and assist you with your initial breastfeeding if needed. I will also visit you in your home soon after you return, to see how you and baby are doing, review your birth with you, and assist you with other things as needed. Fee for services - $600

POSTPARTUM DOULA - What can I expect:

As a postpartum doula - I will assist you with successfully transitioning the baby into your lives in the first few weeks and months if necessary. I will use my training, knowledge and experience to provide you educational support with breastfeeding, infant care and taking care of yourself. I will also provide relief if you need it; taking loving care of your baby and siblings while you get much needed sleep. I will assist your husband and/or siblings in learning how to take care of mommy and basically be there for whatever your needs are. To steal a phrase, the role of the postpartum doula is "to nurture parents (old and new) into their new roles" - because even if you have children already, the dynamics change, and each postpartum period, just like each pregnancy is different - with different needs. Fee for services - $25 per hour

CPR/First Aid

It is so important to be prepared for anything... I can provide infant/child CPR and First Aid classes to you in the privacy of your home. I will also provide first time moms and dads with helpful tips in 'baby-proofing' your home... $50single/ $80 per couple (includes all materials and certification cards).

Childbirth education classes include information including, but not limited to; birth options, labor support, discomforts of pregnancy, understanding labor and delivery, labor guide (includes anesthesia, cesarean birth and most routinehospital procedures), postpartum care, feeding your newborn, and caring for your newborn. Fee for services - $75
